I admit it. I am a junkie when it comes to the best of the year book lists! I love to read mysteries, and these are the 10 best mysteries I've read this year. I keep a journal of the books I read and rate them as I go. It was difficult to pare the list down to 10, but here it is.
1. Into the Darkest Corner - Elizabeth Haynes
2. Gone Girl - Gillian Flynn
3. Broken Harbor - Tana French
4. Before the Poison - Peter Robinson
5. Bleed for Me - Michael Robotham
6. The Invisible Ones - Louise Penny
7. Syndrome E - Franck Thilliez
8. Defending Jacob - William Landay
9. Line of Fire - Stephen White
10. Bird Man - Mo Hayder
You'll notice that some of these are older titles, but I read them in 2012.

First Time for Everything
This is my very first effort at blogging! My aim is to let you, the reader, know about some interesting books that I've read and enjoyed. Be warned, I love to read mystery and psychological suspense novels, so you will be hearing about several of them.
I like to think that I read widely, but often find myself drawn to debut novels. It amazes me how often these are some of the most satisfying reads. And I get a big kick out of having the chance to be the first to tell others about a terrific new book.
The Age of Miracles by Karen Thompson Walker is just one of these debut novels.
